A little backstory about me. I'm 33, a mom, a photographer and girlfriend to the sweetest Irishman ever. Life couldn't be better. Or could it?? When I look in the mirror, I don't like what I see. I know I'm not in my 20's anymore however I wish I was lol. Just 2 short years ago, before I met my sweet, cuddly Irishman, I was certainly not the weight I am today. Years ago I would've said it was his fault. In past relationships, as a matter of fact, I have blamed my weight gain on them. My weight has fluctuated so much I could make waves in a wave pool.
I first saw The Digest Diet on Dr. Phil. It sparked my curiousity. I suprised myself and read the entire book cover to cover. I'm more of a fiction reader and once upon a time a fiction writer so I was suprised that I didn't just put it back on my shelf to collect dust with the other "self help" books. My question was how could someone drop 10 lbs in 4 days?? I still believe it's impossible but we shall see.
I went to the market last night and bought all the ingredients.
The entire concept of the diet, from my perception is to release fat. I am so devoted to this diet that I even gave up drinking my beloved coffee which includes these lovely flavor enhancers.
Now the diet does say you can drink a cup of coffee a day but sadly not quite the way I'm used to. LOL I can literally drink a pot by myself in one day. Could explain my weight gain. lol So I've given it up for the time being for this.
Which isn't a bad alternative so I'm ok. LOL
So I got straight to work after I dropped my little one off at school. Now, mind you. I've tried diets that include shakes before. While there were times I lost weight on them, for some reason when I tried it recently it was not even remotely effective. I know a lot of my reason is because I sit idle sometime. Life as a photographer isn't as always busy as we'd like. Perhaps someday :)
I'd have to say, the shake looks good.
It even has the frothy bubbles. From first taste it was a bit bitter however the book even stated it was supposed to be. That's supposed to prevent people from getting too hungry too soon. Today I tried the Tangerine and Cocoa Fast Release shake. Unfortunately I bought the wrong flaxseed however it went down just the same as flaxseed meal.
I'd have to say that so far today I am full. Normally I would be rummaging through my pantry for a snack at this time of the morning. I pre-made my snack of fat free riccotta cheese and red bell pepper (it calls for green but I prefer red).
I've decided to skip the soup and just drink the shake for dinner as well as for lunch. There is nothing wrong with what they have listed but none of them looked appealing to me.
I'm posting a picture of myself on Day 1. Hopefully this will inspire me to keep moving. I only have 30 lbs to lose so perhaps I will lose it in time for Christmas. I will not give up. It's not easy photographing myself or even looking at the picture itself but hopefully that will change shortly.
Thanks for anyone who reads this and see you on Day 2 :)
